The Clapham Tandoori was established in Clapham in 1971 and has built a justifiable reputation as one of the leading Indian restaurants in London.  We’ve achieved this through our commitment to traditional Indian food, modern decor and being one of the few Indian restaurants to boast an award-winning chef.

Whilst India has eaten spicy food, it was not until the Moghul invasions that the Indian curry flowered into its finest forms in the traditional dishes of Persia, Afghanistan, Bengal and Central Asia.  Today we are honored to share our knowledge and expertise with our discerning diners and have over thirty years of getting it right, to justify our belief that the Clapham Tandoori is simply the only way to eat Indian food.

The Clapham Tandoori is constantly improving its curry menu, its Indian take-away, the quality of its home delivery service as well as its premises.

Because of unprecedented popularity, we plan to expand the seating area of our SW4 restaurant shortly, and feel that consistently excelling at bringing traditional Indian food to the discerning diner, means we will continue to grow in the future, to facilitate our Clapham and London customers.

The Clapham Tandoori also prides itself on those extra touches – a database for take-away customers, a comment card with every bill, an off-licence delivery facility, plus goody bags for customers who want to stay at home but still want to have as much fun as they’d have in our friendly restaurant atmosphere.
